The Development Study is a program, which services and
includes feasibility studies for their high priority socio-
economic development projects.
It is a type of technical grant aid provided to developing countries
in which master plans, basic studies, feasibility
studies and implementation designs are made for
various projects. |

The Development Study aims at promoting economic and social development of
developing countries by sharing Korea's specialized technical know-how and by upgrading
the capability to formulate plans of developing countries.
The Development Study provides the Recipient Government width basic data for policy-making before
implementation of a project. Based on the field study, a proposed project is reviewed and analyzed in terms of
technical, economic and other key considerations. |

After completing the study, the final report if forwarded to the recipient government and used as
basic data for policy-making or the basic for securing project loans from international
development banks or aid agencies in advanced countries.
If necessary, a link between the development study completed
by GCSN and a loan from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund(EDCF) of Korea is made. |

The fields of the development study are diverse.
In principal, any project in the public sector that contributes to the socio-economic
progress of developing countries can be considered the object of a development study. |
